|Name||VOD (Voice of Democracy)|
VOD is a non-profit radio station that originally began airing in January 2003 under the supervision of the Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR). In 2007, it started to operate under the umbrella of the Cambodian Center for Independent Media after Khem Sokha, the founder and director of CCHR entered politics. As CCIM attempted several times to be granted a broadcasting license from the Ministry of Information in vain, VOD started to broadcast its programming on the airwaves of Sarika FM, of which CCIM hires its license.
Today, VOD receives its funding from the Open Society Foundations, a US grant fund founded by George Soros, DanChurchAid, a Danish Christian aid organisation, and Diakonia, a Swedish Christian human rights organisation that works on land rights issues in Cambodia.
It covers mainly current affairs and has local reporters and correspondents in Cambodia's provinces.
In 2013, VOD launched its online version, VODHotNews.com.
